7 Days - Raspberry Jam!

A while ago, Rebecca of sporky.net posted an entry that included a drool-inducing shot of a jar of her own hand-picked, homemade raspberry jam.

Something to note. I LIVE for raspberry jam. I don’t put anything else on my toast. Not even butter. Just a lightly toasted slice of wheat bread, and raspberry jam on top.

Taking immediate action, and after a mini-flurry of emails and promises of mega-riches to Rebecca, she obliged and sent over a jar to me.

Then life got in the way. I was up to my neck in work at the office and putting in 12 hour days.

The jar sat on my dresser, waiting, and waiting. Sure, I could have just made up a slice of toast and had a go at it before dashing off to work.

But I wanted to enjoy it in its proper setting, on a plate opposite of scrambled eggs with a generous seasoning of salt and pepper. And the Washington Post opinions section as reading material while I munched away.

So it sat there. Waiting for its day.

That day finally came today. And boy, I tell ya - it was worth the wait. Yummmm…. I’m going to be a sad panda the day I use up the last of this jam. Must devise an evil plan to head out to Missoula, kidnap Rebecca, stow her in my basement, making nothing but jam day after day. Jam, jam, jam!

I’ve heard of some freaky S & M dungeons in my life, but never anything like that. Shall I call you Jam Master?

I don’t know, I think jam made under duress is nothing but jelly. You need freedom to jam. Freedom and berries.

Tim received 100% pure mainline raspberry, monkey. I assumed he wasn’t ready for a “speedball”–hot peppers and raspberries in the same jam.
