Running Log - Back in the saddle, and oof!

Yeah, its that time of the year.  Weather gets warmer out, and its time to start running again.  Instead of running through the urban jungle, dodging traffic and inhaling diesel fumes, here you have to worry about dodging roving teenagers on bicycles, keeping an eye out for farmer trucks blasting past you at 80 mph and the the fresh, fresh smell of cow shit.

I definitely got winded a few times and had to take a few walking breaks, but overall I didn’t do so shabby since the last time I ran.

Today’s route: 4.8 mi., 44 min. 18 sec.

I just read about your run back in October. I used to run years ago. I am so out of shape now, but I want to get back into running again. I felt so good then. It was the one thing that kept me going when I was depressed strangely enough. Like if I couldn’t run, I’d be climbing the walls. You’ve inspired me. I love your style of writing. Thanks so much for blogging.

Heh. I think I’d take bus fumes over manure any day. And yes, I ran yesterday as well. I’m trying to decide if I should run a half marathon at the end of March.

That is funny, cuz I decided to run a few days ago, after not having run since last fall. Oomph… I felt a little winded, but not bad (actually I ran one mile… whoopee ;o) ) With the midwestern spring coming up fast, I plan on running more, on terrain trails (terrain running is more fun than running on pavement.)
