Running Log
I really wanted to make it a 14-miler today. But like the 12-miler before, I came up a few tenths of a mile short. Its mainly because I dont really go out with a plan, I just run by gut and guess a route based on past experiences. But it’s close enough to 14 miles for me.
Today’s route: 13.6 miles, 2 hrs. 3 min.

Running Log (Was Good Morning Mr. Awakening)
I ran out to the very tip of Hains Point to say ‘good morning, fella’ to Mr. Awakening. Then I ran back home.

Jeremy and I took a little saunter down the coast of the Atlantic, from Rehoboth, through the quiet town of Dewey Beach and then down the highway to the state park and back. Don’t have a pedometer layout link handy but it was about seven miles in a hour.
Today’s route: 7.0 miles, 59min 56sec.

Dare I say, that 8-miles are becoming almost routine? Only four months ago, I would have recoiled in horror at the thought of having to sustain a running pace for eight-miles.
Now as I wound my way through the darkened streets of D.C., along the shimmering waters of the Potomac, swinging around the Jefferson Memorial, the straight-line run down the National Mall, noting with bemusement a game of flag-football being played in the dark by a bunch of guys wearing glow sticks for headbands, and a football wrapped in luminscent tape sailing through the dark sky. Reaching the Capitol, I veer left and head up Massachusetts Ave towards home. And it was rather… fun. I didn’t struggle at all, and instead had a wonderful evening run.
Today’s route: 7.9 miles, 1hr 10m.
Running Log
I was pretty sure I’d break 10 miles with this route I made up on the fly, but came up a bit short. The run felt good, I didn’t feel like I was struggling at any point. So most definitely gotta bump up the mileage.
Today’s route: 9.6miles, 1hr 33min.

Running at night in DC is so different from during the day. There’s a inherent, almost inconceivable peace and quiet while running along Ohio Drive and the National Mall. During the day, those areas are teeming with tourists and its almost like running an obstacle course, complete with moving obstacles to track around. At night, it’s just you, your thoughts, the occasional late night stroller or jogger. I felt great tonight, and maintained a good pace.
Today’s route: 8 miles, 1 hr. 14 min.
